Never Say Ever

There is nothing I dislike more than when someone asks an “EVER” question. “Will I ever find a new job, will I ever find a partner, will I ever get married?” What people don't realize is that they are asking me and cards to scan through the entire rest of their life to find the answer.  Maybe my cards can do that, but I know I can't.  I find it's much more practical to redirect someone who asks the “ever” question and suggest: “Why don't we narrow that down a bit, let's say within the month, or the next three months, or maybe by the end of the year.” If there is a positive answer then it gives a person hope that they can really hold onto starting today.  Another suggestion is always asking the person what kind of efforts are they making to make their dream come true.  I have found many people looking for love are not even trying to put themselves out there so people know they are available.
